Kaitoke School’s Pump Track: Community’s Tribute to Levi Takes Shape

Kaitoke School is buzzing with activity as construction of the highly anticipated Levi Golaboski Memorial Bike and Pump Track gains momentum.

“The workmanship, quality, and generosity of our amazing local contractors have been next level! Concrete was poured today!” Principal Leanne Eloff said on Friday.

“Many thanks to Shane and his team at Aotea Concrete and Excavations, Aotea Contractors, the wonderful team at Fulton Hogan, Barrier ITM, and many more… We are getting super close! This track is bigger and better than we expected,” she added.

The community raised over $100,000 through pub quiz nights, sponsorships, and donations for the track. Local board leaders provided the final funds to push the project across the finish line.

Constructed from concrete and compressed lime, the track will not only be a space for the school’s students but also serve as a resource for the entire community.

The build is being overseen by expert track builder Trail Pro NZ.

The school is planning a special opening event to celebrate the culmination of this remarkable community effort and to honor Levi’s memory.
