Oruawharo Medlands Ecovision – Protecting NZ Dotterels During Nesting Season Oruawharo Medlands Ecovision remind us that it’s nesting time for the NZ dotterels, a bird rarer than some kiwi species. If successful, expect tiny “blobs of fluff on sticks” by early November on the little beach next to Boatshed Rock. The community is urged to tread carefully and keep dogs on a leash, as many factors threaten these delicate birds.
