I’m Nikki Watts.
I’ve proudly called Aotea home since 2002. I’ve raised five children here and balanced family life with running local businesses and volunteer roles.
I’m standing for the local board because I believe decisions made should reflect and respond to the needs of the communities they serve. I’ve been an active member of our community for many years, supporting Playcentre, volunteering on the board of trustees for Mulberry Grove School, Aotea Education Trust, Barrier Marine Radio, and fundraising for community initiatives. I’ve always believed in giving back to my community.
Education is something I value; it’s the foundation of strong, resilient communities.
If I get elected, I plan to see how I can support local trusts. They are the backbone of our community and provide many employment opportunities, as well as vital services we otherwise wouldn’t have.
I’d like to see our local economy thrive. I’d like our families to be able to buy homes here.
I’m committed, approachable, and deeply rooted in this island. If elected, I’ll bring a genuine desire to shape positive outcomes for everyone on Aotea.
