Play Your Part: Great Barrier’s Call for Creative Playground Ideas

Are your kids swing enthusiasts or slide aficionados? Or maybe you’re a fan of picnics under the pōhutukawa.

The Great Barrier Local Board is calling on everyone, from energetic toddlers to seasoned grandparents, to have their say in shaping the playgrounds of tomorrow.

“We’re exploring parks across Aotea and are keen to hear which options matter most to you,” says Neil Sanderson, a member of the Great Barrier Local Board.

“As an island with limited play destinations, it’s essential to hear from you. We want to ensure our future upgrades meet your needs and create enjoyable play spaces for everyone.” Sanderson added.

The focus is on council-owned parks located in key areas such as Motairehe, Claris, Medlands, Okiwi, Gooseberry Flat, and Mulberry Grove.
