Aotea Great Barrier Island residents have a unique opportunity to be part of an upcoming Kathmandu commercial, with the New Zealand-based outdoor brand seeking locals for roles in their latest campaign.
The company, known for its outdoor gear, is looking for people who ‘love the island and the outdoors, have a great sense of humor, and enjoy sharing stories’.
Kathmandu, founded by Jan Cameron in 1987, has grown into a leading outdoor group encompassing Kathmandu, Rip Curl, and Oboz. The brand emphasizes sustainable practices and a deep appreciation for the natural environment.
The casting call is for various roles, including those in the main campaign, smaller roles, and a photo shoot.
Filming will take place between June 3 and June 9, with some individuals needed for a separate photo shoot between May 28 and June 2.
Pay ranges from $2,000 to $8,000, depending on the role, with the work to be displayed online for a year across multiple platforms, including social media.
Those applying can’t have criminal convictions within the last 10 years or a history of custodial sentences.
Applicants should email a recent photo, contact details, and their location on Aotea to apply@catchcasting.com by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 10. If suitable for a role, casting directors Joe and Richard will arrange to meet candidates on the island between May 9 and 11.
